Amani Smith is a Stockholm based songwriter and vocalist. Her music does not search for answers but examines, turns over and lingers on what feels unresolved. With a voice that carries both strength and fragility she enters the Swedish music scene with her debut single “Svårt” a subtle yet precise portrayal of the terms of intimacy. The expression is direct without circumvention No grand gestures only what needs to be said.

She began writing alone at a piano in an empty school auditorium. There was no plan only a need. It was not until someone from the outside suggested that she should pursue it seriously that the idea of an artistic practice began to take shape. For Amani music remains more process than project a way of understanding both herself and her surroundings.

Her songs often begin with a single line that lingers and grows. This was how “Stockholm är för stort” came to life with those very words becoming the starting point for the entire track.

In spring 2026 her debut EP “Jag håller hjärtat i min hand” will be released a first collected imprint. A series of autobiographical songs that move close to the skin where each track is a fragment of experience and emotion. Drawing from the emotional intensity of Keyshia Cole and the melancholic darkness of Radiohead Amani moves between R&B soul and alternative pop yet it is not genre that leads It is feeling.

Amani describes herself as almost uncomfortably honest. She avoids embellishment in life as well as in music. It is within the unfiltered and unpolished that she feels most at home. Her sound is contemporary yet carries something timeless as if the voice has always been there waiting for the right reason to be heard.

What began in a silent room has slowly grown into something larger. But the foundation remains the same to write about what feels real. Even when it hurts Perhaps especially then.
