Christian Nanou has finally released his debut album “YAKO”.

“Yako” is a common expression in Côte d’Ivoire used to show empathy and support. For Christian it also becomes a symbol of how he wants each song on the album to feel. Together with his outstanding band he is now heading out on his first tour.

The 22 year old Christian Nanou is an artist, songwriter and producer creating Swedish language R&B influenced pop. Last year he made his debut with the single “Håll om mig” followed by “Kontakt”, which was notably highlighted by Per Sinding Larsen on SVT Morgonstudion. This past autumn saw the release of his critically acclaimed debut EP “Stockholm”, which earned him a Swedish Grammis in the category R&B Soul of the Year.

Christian Nanou was born and raised in Lund where he was introduced to music at an early age by his father and older sister through a mix of West African music and R&B. As a teenager he began producing and writing his own music in English and later co founded the artist collective Fugitive Familia together with a group of friends with the aim of bringing together local rappers, artists and producers in the Malmö area.

In 2022 Christian moved to Stockholm to pursue music full time. There he met artist and songwriter Jaqe and it was then that he decided to start writing music in Swedish.
