Design and Interior Design

The building that now houses Blique Nobis was designed by Sigurd Lewerentz in 1931 as an office building and warehouse for Philips. The historic building was renovated in collaboration with Wingårdhs, under the direction of star architect Gert Wingårdh. The hotel’s design concept is rooted in Lewerentz’s legacy, where a clean, minimalist foundation meets a refined, artisanal interior.

The design concept is based on large concrete surfaces and is accentuated by raw materials such as sheet steel and metal. To capture the functionalism that characterized Lewerentz’s work, we have collaborated with Wingårdhs to use a limited number of carefully considered materials that serve both decorative and functional purposes.

The minimalist base is contrasted by a refined, handcrafted interior. Here you’ll find timeless design classics in wood and leather—materials that only grow more beautiful with age. The interior’s color palette ranges from natural tones to black, with a predominance of brown hues. Here you’ll find classics such as chairs by Carl Hansen and the American designers Charles and Ray Eames, as well as furniture designed by Wingårdh specifically for the hotel. With us, you can relax in the tension between the stripped-down, austere aesthetic and the artisanal softness.
