About the artist: Robert is an American artist, a painter and sculptor, who became a central figure in the Pop art movement in the 1060s. Indiana says that these paintings are the most important paintings he has done. Why? Indiana was obsessed with the American Modernist Marsden Hartley. 1989 he began his “Hartley Elegies” series, having this year as the 75th anniversary of the death of Hartley´s dear friend whose loss initiated a significant creative output for Hartley.
